NTL received a call from the daughter of
a dying woman a month ago. Her Mother always wanted an angel statue to place in her yard at her home. The daughter was tracking down local (in her area) resources for lawn angels and was to get back to me.
She finally found the perfect Angel last Saturday, but her Mom won't be going home to enjoy it.
NTL negotiated payment for the Angel and a bench for the Angel on Saturday. The daughter and her husband picked up the Angel and took it to the Mom's hospital room on Sunday morning. The dying Mom's father-in-law is a preacher. He came to the hospital room to see his daughter-in-law who has been non-responsive for the past four days. He laid her hand on the Angel's head. The pastor and the daughter and her husband made a circle of prayer and asked God to use the Angel to bring some comfort to the dying Mom. Tears streamed down the dying woman's face--her first reaction of any kind in the past four days.
I get goose bumps typing the words. Once she passes, the Angel and its bench will be taken to her grave site and anchored into the ground for family members to appreciate every time they come to
pay their respects in the future.
I figured you would be edified by this incredible ending to the final chapter of a life well lived.
