Colts' Lamey makes a Fan's Day
'Voice
of the Colts', Bob Lamey, (an NTL fan) helps grant another wish
By Phillip B. Wilson
Wednesday, September 12, 2007: Indianapolis Colts radio voice Bob Lamey brought tears to the eyes of a 93-year-old fan Saturday, September 8th, in Frankfort.
Roy Surface, a resident of the Clinton House Health & Rehab Center, had dreamed of meeting Lamey, who made that wish come true through the Never Too Late outreach program for seniors.
Lamey and Never Too Late's Bob Haverstick also gave Surface a Colts hat, socks, pillow, blanket and clock.
"It's anything you can do or say to brighten his day," said Lamey, who talked and signed autographs.
Never Too Late has granted more than 1,000 senior wishes since 2000.
UPDATE: Thank you note from Roy's Nephew & Wife

Dear Mr. Haverstick,
On September 8, 2007, you and Bob Lamey, provided Roy Surface of Frankfort, a day to remember by your visit at the Clinton House Nursing Home. It seemed you must have gifted everything that bore a Colts logo on it. Roy has had on his Colts hat or socks every time we visited since then!
We wanted you to know that Roy passed away last night (11/28) around midnight.
We will be forever grateful for the pleasure you and Mr. Lamey brought to Roy.
Sincerely,
Roy's nephew and wife
Lloyd and Kay Surface
PS: The Colts hat is to be buried with Roy......he would like that I know.
