Words from the "Wish Boy"

Welcome to the inaugural Never Too Late Wish Report! Thanks to Exact Target (the premier E-marketing company in the country), Never Too Late has the capacity to send broadcast email messages to the friends of our adult wish-making cause. As you probably know, Never Too Late strives to bring some joy into the lives of the forgotten elderly and terminally ill adults by making their wishes come true.

Never Too Late fulfills approximately 200 wishes a year. Our goal for 2006 is to fulfill a wish a day or 365 wishes for the year.

Each E-newsletter you receive will be short and sweet. We will share a few current wish stories with you to make you smile. We will tell you about a few wishes in the works and encourage you to help "connect the dots" to make the wishes come true. And each time, we will ask you to keep your eyes and ears open for potential wish candidates - your relatives, friends, neighbors and people in your social clubs or at your places of worship. We need for you to become "wish finders".

If, for some reason, you elect not to receive this E-newsletter in the future, just let me know, and we will take your name off of our mailing list.

Recent Wish

Essie C., at age 85, got to ride in a "modern" 18-wheeler semi-truck. Long ago, Essie and her husband used to drive a semi-truck delivering coal in Kentucky and Indiana. A truck driver from Styline Transportation drove to Tell City from Huntingburg, Indiana to pick up Essie and transport her on down the road to Evansville. They even had lunch at the Flying J Truck Stop and Essie got to go behind the scenes to see how the place operated. Plus, she got to talk on the CB radio to other truckers. It was like she was stepping back in time. According to the nursing home staff, Essie was "flying high" when she came back to her room. The good news - the trucker (Tim) has talked to some of his trucker buddies and they have agreed to stop by Essie's place to visit with her and the other residents on a regular basis - a wish that keeps on giving!

Wish in the Works

Agnus M. just turned 90-years-old.  For the past 35 years, she has put on plays as fundraisers for churches and several non-profit organizations around town.  Long ago, when her daughters were little girls, the family took a trip from Indy to New York City to see the sights and to attend a Broadway play.  That is Agnus' wish - to take her grown-up daughters back to NYC one more time and see a play.  Of course, we are going to have to work around Agnus' schedule - she's in the midst of directing two more plays! To fulfill this wish, we need either frequent flier miles on US Airways/America West for three non-stop tickets or we need funds to cover the cost of the flights ($296.90 each).

Please consider contributing to this and other wishes by visiting our donations center at: http://www.nevertoolate.org/Donations.htm or you can send a check or note to Never Too Late, 8538 Tidewater Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46236.

Will Speak for Food

Just a reminder - we are always looking for opportunities to tell the Never Too Late story.  We spoke to over 100 different groups in 2004 and 2005.  Let us know if you need a Wish Story Speaker for your club or organization for 2006.  Send your request to stick47@aol.com.

End of Year Request

Since 2005 is wrapping up and you could be thinking of making one final donation before the end of the year, you may want to become a wish sponsor for Never Too Late.  You may have some extra funds or goods that you want to share with Never Too Late to help us continue our wish making mission.  Or perhaps you want to volunteer your time.  We appreciate any and ALL donations.

NTL is a registered 501c3 public charity and your contribution may be tax deductible - check with your tax advisor.

More Wishes Needed

To attain our goal of a wish a day or 365 wishes a year, we need your help.  PLEASE, bring a wish to us to fulfill.  Once you get involved with one wish and see the joy you bring to someone's life, you will be "hooked" with a "helper's high" and want to become a regular "wish finder".

Submit your wish request by clicking here.

THANK YOU for all of your support in 2005!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS and BEST WISHES to you and yours
for 2006 from all of us at Never Too Late!
