It's Never Too Late - to Dance!
Juanita Hauger enjoys a night with the cast from Dancing with the Stars!
During World War II, Juanita Hauger was an 18-year old young lady who loved to dance. She would go with her girl friends on Saturday nights to the Indiana Roof Ballroom where dances were sponsored for the troops by the USO. She also would go on a chaperoned bus to Camp Atterbury where dances were held as well.
Fast forward to 2009 and now 86-year old Juanita still loves dancing and she especially loves watching the professional dancers and celebrities make their moves on the dance floor during Dancing With The Stars.
It was a dream come true for Juanita when she went backstage at Conseco Fieldhouse to meet some of the performers of the Dancing With The Stars road show. Her daughter Lori said her Mom's eyes lit up when Maurice Greene (former world record holder for the 100 meter sprint) invited her to dance a few steps with
him!!! On the way back home, Juanita reminisced back to the days of the Big Band music when she would dance the night hours
away - it was truly a magical night for her!
And from Juanita's daughter Lori:
Thank you so very much for the evening. My mom loved every minute of it! She recognized all of the celebrity dancers and had a conversation with Lance Bass and Maurice Greene about how she used to dance. The limo ride was great for her, especially since we went from car door to Conseco in just seconds on such a cold night.
Again thank you so much.
Lori
