NEVER TOO LATE RECEIVES GRANT FROM INDIANAPOLIS RETIREMENT HOME FUND
Never Too Late uses $10,000.00 grant from The Indianapolis Retirement Home (a CICF Fund) to fulfill needs-based wishes for local Seniors.
Never Too Late was awarded a $10,000.00 grant from The Indianapolis Retirement Home (a
CICF Fund) in November 2007 to use to help fulfill needs-based wishes for low-income senior citizens in Central Indiana.
During one year's time, Never Too Late made a difference in the lives of forty-four low-income seniors, finding the majority of the wish recipients through
OASIS,
The Senior Companion
Program, and the Partner Place Senior Center. The wishes ranged from Rollator walkers for mobility purposes to new appliances and bedding for folks who had no way to wash their clothes, prepare their own meals, or sleep through the night without springs from old mattress poking into their backs.
To maximize the use of the IRHF grant funds, Never Too Late found partners to fulfill some of the wishes during the past year.
Indy
Go, Catholic Social
Services, and the Disabled American Veterans provided enough funds and goods to help fulfill four different needs-based wishes.
Never Too Late is grateful to have been entrusted with the necessary dollars from the Indianapolis Retirement Home Fund to touch the lives of the forgotten elderly who live out of sight and out of mind of most of mainstream society. Without these much-needed funds, numerous well-deserving senior citizens would have not been able to see their basic-needs wishes turn into
reality.
